How to get rid of old car smell
A new cleaning method for old cars is taking shape, and you don’t even have to pay a fee.
Read MoreThe New York Times reports the product will be available as a “natural” scrubber at your local auto parts store.
The company is using a process called “fusion scrubbing,” which uses a high-tech process to break down old cars into tiny bits of clean air, and then mix them with water, to remove the car odor.
The process uses nothing more than a brush and soap, and is not an expensive process, the Times reports.
This new technology is the latest example of how the automotive industry is trying to improve its cleanliness standards.
The United States is the second-worst country for air quality, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
A number of states have passed laws to increase standards for car odor, including California, which passed a law last year requiring car manufacturers to have new catalytic converters on all new vehicles sold.
In 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Administration reported that nearly 60 percent of the country’s cars were leaking or emitting hazardous levels of air pollution.
While the product is not exactly a “scrubber,” it will be a boon to consumers.
“This is an industry-first product, and it will help us eliminate the odors that we have from older cars,” said Dan St. George, chief executive of Car-Soda.
“Our customers have been asking for this, and they’re going to be able to have the new car smell that they have on their cars, and we’re going be able, through this product, to do that.”
